All good people go to Heaven, right?

Yes! All good people go to Heaven! But here's the problem. According to the Bible, there are no good people. Consider the following verses:

• There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins. -Ecclesiastes 7:29
• The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? -Jeremiah 17:9
• From within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts; sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean. -Mark 7:21-23

Though these are just a sampling of verses (there are many more) I think we get the gist of our problem. None of us are good and none of us deserve Heaven. So what do we do? Romans 6:23 states that though the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. According to Scripture, the only hope that any of us have is in trusting in what Christ has done upon the cross.
